Referring to Mr. Chamberlain's despatch No. 265 of the 11th. October, 1898, I have the honour to report that the area of Crom land appropriated for the purpose of public recreation under the Queen's Recreation Ground Ordinance, 1898, has been considerably extended since that Ordinance was passed.
There is no record of the deposit in the Land Office of the plan required under section 2 of the Ordinance,
2.
and no copy of the plan which was forwarded with Major General
148
Black's despatch No. 10 of the 20th. May, 1898, had been kept.
13761 attach a plan showing the land to which the Ordinance is
believed to refer and the land actually in use for recreation purposes, the area of the one being 12.96 acres and of the other 18.42 acres.
3.
The larger area is urgently needed for public recreation, and I would ask for your covering approval of its allocation for this purpose on terms similar to those sectioned by the Ordinance for the smaller area.
I have the honour to be,
sir,
Your most obedient,
humble servant,
Ama
